These Wine and Culinary Tours will give you a chance to experience the Niagara Region on a personal level. Knowledgeable guides, a variety of wine tours within four of the appellations and tastings at three award winning wineries.

Visit Niagara’s wineries offering beautiful vistas of the surrounding vineyards and landscaping as you enjoy an exclusive sampling of some fine wines.

At Niagara Culinary Institute enjoy a food experience with a cookery demonstration in the culinary theatre and lunch in the fine dining restaurant where some of Canada’s finest chefs are trained. Niagara Culinary Institute is a world class facility which partners with top regional chefs in the community. Following your wine and/or culinary tour visit the new Wine Education Centre opened by the Prince of Wales, and the globally-recognized Niagara College Teaching Winery, both included as part of these packages.

There are 2 departures to suite your schedule:

ALL TOURS START AND END AT NIAGARA COLLEGE – NIAGARA ON THE LAKE CAMPUS – FREE PARKING

Winery Tours – depart from Niagara College at 10:00am or 1:00pm – visit 3 wineries in Niagara lakeshore, Niagara River, St. David’s Bench and Four Mill Creek Appellations. Tour includes transportation, and tastings:
Inclusive cost $45.00 per person – taxes included.

Niagara Culinary Institute – begins at 10:00 am and 12 (noon). The experience includes a cooking demonstration in the Colleges state of the art cooking theatre, followed by lunch in the fine dining restaurant.
Cost $65.00 per person (includes all taxes and gratuities).

Second session 12 Noon cooking demonstration followed by lunch of Niagara grown foods and a visit to the Niagara College winery and education centre

Wine and Herb Event 2010

A self-directed tour of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s wine region, where guests can taste great VQA wines paired with delectable food items highlighting various herbs at each of the 22 participating wineries.

The pass holder is entitled to visit each of the 22 participating wineries, on any and all of the five weekends in May (Saturday/Sunday). The pass entitles the holder to one wine and food pairing at each of the participating wineries.

Wine & Herb will take place each weekend in May 2010 (1&2, 8&9, 15&16, 22&23, 29&30) and runs between the hours of 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The Days of Wine and Chocolate

Warm up those frosty weekends in February with a match made in heaven. Each Niagara-on-the-Lake winery pairs a VQA wine with a decadent chocolate selection. Each of the 44,000 chocolates to be savoured by couples in love and friends out for a day will be handmade in Niagara-on-the-Lake by Willow Cakes & Pastries. Your touring  pass entitles you to one pairing at each member winery and is valid for any of the event weekends. February 6/7, 13/14, 20/21, 27/28 from 11 am to 5pm. $30 per person. Tickets are available at the Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake, or through the
Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce.

The membership is comprised of 22 distinctive wineries located in one unforgettable place nestled below the Niagara Escarpment amidst a landscape of vineyards and orchards. The 22 wineries are: Cattail Creek, Château des Charmes, Coyote’s Run, Hillebrand, Inniskillin, Jackson-Triggs, Joseph’s, Konzelmann, Lailey, Maleta, Marynissen, Niagara College, Palatine, Peller, Pillitteri, Ravine, Reif, Southbrook, Stonechurch, Stratus, Strewn, Sunnybrook Farm. Niagara-on-the-Lake Ice Wine Festival

The 2010 Icewine Festival is fast approaching, with many events scheduled throughout January in support of the three weekends of the Niagara Icewine Festival. The Niagara-on-the-Lake Wineries are all offering special icewine tastings and local restaurants and hotels are featuring Jazz music to highlight the Town’s selection as the future home of the Canadian Jazz Hall of Fame, to be located in the Market Room at the Courthouse.

Santa Claus Parade

It time for that great annual Niagara-on-the-Lake Santa Claus parade.

The Parade will begin at the corner of King and Centre Streets. It will turn right on Castlereagh, left on Wellington, left on Byron, left on Simcoe, and left again onto Queen St.

Come by and watch the parade makes its way through historic downtown Niagara on The Lake. 
Probably one of the best Santa Claus parades in Canada.
